Coloring and foiling hair seems like a pretty daunting task, but our friend Fernando Guzman from Studio 38 gives you his tips of making is simple and easy.
Check out the video on how to foil hair and his cool multi-color hair coloring techniques on a modern Bob Haircut.
For more tips of how to foil hair and separate when coloring, follow these great tips:
Tip #1
Find the client’s normal hair part. Comb the hair so it falls naturally.
Tip #2
Decide if you’re doing thin, natural-looking highlights or chunky highlights. This will determine how much hair you foil. Run the pointy end of a fine-tooth comb across the hair, separating a small section.
Tip #3
Hold the hair in one hand while you weave the pointy end through the hair. This will separate the hair you want to foil. If the person wants natural looking foils, weave it tightly, choosing only a few hairs at a time. For chunky highlights, allow for greater distance as you weave the comb.
Tip #4
Fold the top inch of the foil paper underneath. Place the pointy end of your comb into that fold. Hold the foil tightly under the hair you are going to color.
Tip #5
Remove the comb and hold the foil tightly into place with one hand. It should be flat against the head. Dip the applicator brush into the color solution.
Tip #6
Brush the color onto the hair. Get as much of the root as possible. Once all the hair is saturated, fold the foil up until it covers all of the colored hair.
Tip #7
Continue the process, moving from one section to the next, until all the desired hair is wrapped in foil.

Hair Coloring is a something that a lot of people attempt themselves, and quite often the results are not as expected. Then they freak out and demand a Hair Color Correction immediately from their stylists. Worse yet, some try and correct the hair color themselves and make it even worse.

Here are some hair color correction techniques for fixing a home coloring disaster. But first and foremost, when this happens, leave the Hair Color Correction to the pros and your stylist!

If you have made one of the most common mistakes made by people who color their hair at home is to make the problem worse by applying the wrong color to correct the hair color and their first mistake. For example: Have you ever colored your hair and ended up with a color that is too red or brassy? The hair color correction problem that many do is that people try to pull the red color out by lightening their hair. This only causes more problems and more brassiness. Other people try to darken their hair again only to have it turn too dark. Both of these approaches are wrong and you will understand why with a quick course in color correction.

If you have taken the plunge and gone with a permanent color or a strong semipermanent, but it’s just not what you pictured. If you had it done at a salon, any good professional will be happy to adjust it if you’re not completely satisfied. (Of course, you might want to think twice about returning to a person who botched the job in the first place.)
If you just can’t live with it at all, a colorist can use a color remover to lighten your hair, but you run the risk of further damage and a brassy look and you’ll probably have to dye it yet again. (There are color removers available in drugstores, but this process is best left to the pros.) If you’ve used a gentle semipermanent color, most of it will eventually wash out — just keep shampooing. In any event, time and a haircut may be your best bets.

So you want to learn how to do a layered haircut for your clients but have no idea where to start? Check out these hair cutting tips on layered haircuts and you will see just how simple and easy a long layered hairstyle can be.
Start with sectioning the layered haircut and work on the back section first, overdirect and bring everything back towards you.
Cut straight across at the bottom to remove length, then use point cutting to achieve the long layered hairstyle as it adds texture and reduces weight.
Hair Cutting Tip: Be sure to establish overall length *BEFORE* beginning layering process, by removing length at the sides as well as the very bottom.
Once you get the hair to the length that you want it to be, you can start creating your layers.
To begin the layering of the long hairstyle, start with the back section and work your way around the head. You can either go from left to right, or right to left its up to you, just make sure that whatever method you use, you can achieve balance with the final layered haircut.
Hair Cutting Tip: Build a foundation in either direction in a structured manner, as in the end you can get a bit more creative and be able to freestyle with your scissors. Its up to you to train your eye in seeing the weight, and really taking any finished layered hairstyle to the next level.
Continue layering by taking small sections of previously-cut hair as a guide and the following it through, and continuously point cutting.

A Clipper Cut is one of those haircuts that one will either love or hate.
The cool thing is that these days it is fashionable for both men and women to get some sort of a haircut using clippers.
When doing a clipper cut correctly, a hairstylist can make either gender’s style stick out.
Ivan Zoot of clipperguy fame is one of those people.
Ivan is one of those rare guys who has actually set guiness book of world records with their clipper cut techniques!
As you watch this video you will discover that not only is Ivan responsible for the *fastest* haircut ever (55 seconds to be exact) but he also holds the world record on the most professional and judged haircuts done in one hour.
And here is what’s even more interesting. After the hour was over, he decided to reclaim a record he set 10 years earlier and cut hair for 23 MORE HOURS non-stop!
Ivan is so good and so quick with clippers, he not only shows you his *three-hand cutting* technique, but also how to avoid those dreaded “v snip” scars you get from point cutting with scissors. And to top it all off, the clipperguy teaches you how to use clippers for texturizing. Brilliant!
This video will take you behind the scenes of multi-gender clipper cutting. That’s right I said it: clipper cutting techniques for both MEN and WOMEN. It does not matter if you have 2 inches or 22 inches to work with, Ivan lays it out step by step and makes it really simple and easy for you to master his techniques.
But the guy is quick. So stay with me as I pull back the curtain, and give you a *sneak peak* into the world of a Guiness Book of World Records holder, three times over.
